February 9th--Jazz...Drinks...Dinner! Thank you Kathryn and Grace, for a wonderful evening!

Eight Island girls (Kathryn, Jaye, Grace, Patricia, Sharon, Liz, Pam and Cindy) attended Kathryn's event: the Peter and Will Anderson trio's (with Alex Wintz) performance at the Marco Island Center of the Arts on February 9th.  (A glass of wine was even included!)   The music was glorious...most of the songs performed were known.  Marco Island was very lucky to have that level of entertainment come to our small island.  The venue only sat about 90.  They remarked about the wonderful acoustics of the room.  It was like being in a small jazz club!  Afterwards seven (minus Jaye) went to La Tavola for dinner and liquid refreshments!  (We all forgot to take pictures at the Arts Center..so we are missing a beautiful picture of Jaye...but we had a wonderful time!)  And, the seven of us got home after Marco midnight!  Thank you Kathryn and Grace!

Talking to them afterwards, I noticed that Peter and Will use older well worn saxophones.  The saxophone had much of the polish rubbed off (you can see it in the picture on the right) and even some green tarnish.  Apparently the older instruments actually have a richer sound than the newer ones and are frequently preferred and sought after.  Who knew???  (Why is not known, perhaps the metal makeup or machining?)
